How can you pass up a face like this? Sweet silly squishy Sascha was sitting in a cage at Chicago Animal Care and Control and we knew that large black dogs are statistically the last dogs to get a chance at adoption, so we happily snapped him up to become part of our family. He immediately won us over with that goofy face and irresistible charm! Sascha boy has been with a family for the last several months but has recently come back to NLOL for placement again. No worries - we're so happy to have him back!
Sascha is about as handsome as they come and about as sweet as they come. This gorgeous Rottie has quickly become a volunteer favorite with his lovable and gentle disposition. He loves nothing more than to nuzzle into you and do the "Rottie lean". Don't let this BIG boy fool you. He may look a bit intimidating, but he's anything but! Sascha is incredible with people. He's respectful, smart, responsive and will make an unbelievable companion for some lucky adopter.
Sascha-boy loves children and lived with a 3 year old and a 6 year old in his temporary home. He is rather large and sometimes bumped them out of the way when he was excited about something, but he was overall very gentle and kind with them (aside from an occasional snack-stealing incident!) So far Sascha seems to be good with most other dogs, but we would need to be sure that if he does have a potential canine friend that it's the right match (preferably a female)! Sascha met a cat and it was not a good fit, so he will need a kitty-free home. While Sascha has an ideal temperament, interested parties should educate themselves on his breed. He is a Rottweiler and will need someone who is dedicated to properly exercising him as well as being a strong handler who is willing to go through proper obedience training with him.
