THERAPY DOG TRAINING

We focus our level of training to create well-mannered, calm, social pets Our rescue dogs have a comprehensive training and evaluation period. We use a number of trainers for each dog, ensuring the dog is comfortable with following directions from any handler. The dogs are taken to various locations throughout the area and “proofed” against every day distractions and obstacles. All dogs then take the Lend a Paw obedience and temperament test by our qualified staff. Once the dog has completed training, they are available for adoption by those persons willing to continue their use in therapy work.

TRAINING YOUR DOG AS A THERAPY DOG
We offer training classes for individuals who wish to get involved in therapy work with their own dog. We incorporate therapy work skills into our regular obedience classes. Our goal is for all of you to participate in therapy work at some point with your well behaved, well socialized and friendly dog.
